Partnership managers: you're leaving money on the table every time you skip the overlay
A Reel ends. Someone on the brand team logs the handle, maybe the platform, maybe “mentioned us.” The discount code was on a sticker for two seconds. The competitor bottle was on the counter. The “gifted” line was in the voiceover, not in the caption.
If you run partnerships or affiliates at a CPG, beauty, or DTC brand, that log is how money leaks. You paid for a usage, or you are hunting unpaid UGC, and the structured record is a row that says a person posted. It does not say which SKU, whether they liked it, whether it was a paid mention, or what code they told people to use.
Captions are not the mention
The workaround is familiar. Watch the video. Pause. Type the product into a sheet. Screenshot the overlay into a folder named after the month. Ask the creator for the code in email because nobody caught it live. Repeat across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube because the same campaign did not stay on one app.
That process fails in a specific place. Mentions are not only speech. They are on-screen text, packaging in frame, link stickers, and the sentence that discloses an ad. A caption-only pull misses the overlay. A “we watched it” checkbox misses timestamps, sentiment, and whether the mention was spoken, shown, or both.
I treat each distinct product as a row: brand, product name, category when it is clear, how it was mentioned, tone toward that product, a timestamp when it can be placed, a short context quote, a discount code if one was stated or shown, price text if they said a number, and whether a sponsorship or ad was disclosed for that product. Creator handle and name when the platform exposes them.
One video can be several rows. That is the point. A haul is not one mention.
Paste the video, take mention rows
Public Instagram Reels and posts in supported shapes, TikTok videos, YouTube Shorts and watch URLs. No login. Analyze speech and the frame. Write one flat row per product mention.
That is the Creator Product Mention Miner API. Run it on Apify.
You still need a human for the ambiguous bottle in the background. Confidence is a field, not a guarantee. Brief or unclear audio will look like it: medium or low, not a fake high.
Who this is for
If you attribute creator spend to SKUs, this is for you. If you harvest codes and offer language for affiliate reporting, this is for you. If you watch competitors show up in UGC and you want share of voice that is not a folder of screen recordings, this is for you.
If the video is private, deleted, or geo-blocked, it will not be there. Files over a hard size cap are skipped. This is not a full-firehose social listener; it is URLs you paste.
Static Instagram images are a cousin job — text burned into post photos and carousels, not a timed mention in a video. Both sit with the other posts on rainminer.
Input, pricing, and the rest of the caveats live on the Apify Store README for Creator Product Mention Miner.
A watched Reel is not a product record
The cost of the old way is a partnership report that cannot name the SKU, the code, or the disclosure. You left that money on the table when you skipped the overlay and trusted the caption.
Paste the URLs. Take the mention rows.
